The Carthouse: 1 bedroom, king size bed and single bed – sleeps 2-3
This detached cottage is made up of the old carthouse and pigsties. It is full of character and provides a luxurious cottage for 2-3 persons. A new luxury addition for 2021 - a hot tub for two. The Carthouse as the name suggests housed the cart in olden days, however in more recent times this is where the Landrover was kept! The large arched opening at the front is now fully glazed and gives wonderful views of the hillside. An opening was formed at the back of the lounge to provide an entrance to the old pig sties and these now form the kitchen and bathroom areas. The oak galley kitchen with its original slate flagstone floor leads in turn to a refurbished stylish light and airy bathroom with a spacious bath and overbath shower with a glass screen, wash hand basin and toilet The first floor which was called the ‘loft storehouse’ was originally accessed by the external stone steps and here the grain was stored. Now a beautiful oak staircase, crafted by a local carpenter, takes you up to the first floor bedroom which features a wonderful large bespoke window providing a spectacular view of the hills. You can watch the red kites, buzzards and other birds soaring in the skies above, see the sheep grazing and observe the wildlife. The bedroom has a king size brass and iron double and single bedsteads with exquisite Welsh blankets and cotton bedlinen. A door leading out from the first floor bedroom to the external flight of stone steps provides a high view point with a wonderful view of the surrounding countryside. A back door leads from the kitchen out onto a pretty private slate patio area with a hot tub for two.
