Stable– sleeps 2
As the name suggests this was the stable; its original cobbled floor was raised during renovation and the cobbles can now be seen re-laid within the courtyard. Back in the time before tractors, horses were an important part of life on the farm; they were used to carry out the heavy work, ploughing the land, etc. ‘Daisy’ and ‘Brown’ were the last of the large working horses to inhabit the stable, we found a couple of horseshoes which have been placed on the window cill outside as good luck charms. Attractive slate steps with a metal handrail lead up to the front door which opens directly into a light spacious lounge/kitchen/dining area. The cosy bedroom has a double brass & iron bedstead featuring a beautiful antique Welsh quilt and crisp cotton bedlinen. The adjacent bathroom is fully tiled and includes a shower, toilet and wash hand basin. The back door leads directly out from the lounge onto a private patio area with views of the hillside above. You can sit on the wooden garden furniture and watch the red kites, buzzards and other birds soaring in the skies above, see the sheep grazing and observe the wildlife. |
